Is the free version of Malwarebytes antimalware really free, forever? I thought it was. Or is it free for just a trial period?

I signed up for the Free version a few weeks ago, used it, got a clean bill of health. But now I get odd messages to the effect that my "registration has expired." Additionally, I get a message saying I need to update the data base but when I click the Update Now button nothing happens.

I would appreciate clarification.   ...batpark

Yes, it is free but you need to buy a license if you wish to use the premium features such as real-time protection et cetera. Regarding your issue, you can uninstall and re-install to rectify it. While installing make sure that you un-check the box beside Enable free trial of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware premium.
Thanks.
