And finally, a log of DelFix.

But before, a question.

Which exact system settings did it reset? What should I check now and set back the way I like?

Hi Vlad! :)

Answering to your question: as far as I know, reset system settings hides known file extensions & hidden system files/folders (as most part of our tools make it visible).

If you'd like me to check your other computers, please post in this thread and I will be happy to analyze your logs :)

Hey Naat. Thanks for all the help. I don't think there's a lot of sense currently in wasting your time on more logs, because the problem seem to disappear, and I hope, for good. Whatever it was.

Thank you also for the links, I will study them.

Last question.

Do you think it's wise to hide extensions? I mean, isn't this the very obvious way of getting infected, to get some file that has a Word icon, and you don't see it's an .exe, so you run it?

I never understood why Microsoft made it a default setting, and I would expect you guys actually recommend people to turn extensions on. :upset:

It depends.

I understand doubts about the hidden extensions, but think about it the other way - with extensions revealed, user may unknowingly change it along with the filename and make in unusable. It's all about the common sense.
