Just wondering what people think of the two IDE's and if anyone has a preference and why?

I've been using netbeans but i like how Eclipse has lot more activity for it's plugins.

Does anyone have any experience with both and can explain some of the pros and cons?

I'm not using these(I'm using JetBrains PHPStorm), but I did a little research for you, maybe these links help you a bit:

NetBeans is my preference. It runs more like a word processor. I can jump into a drawing program to make a quick Icon, or surf the internet while NetBeans is running. NetBeans lets you enter textbook code -- something a lot of the IDEs out there won't accomodate. I do like the FormBuilder in NetBeans. I do think NetBeans, with the C/C++ plug-in is the fastest way to write C/C++ code. NetBeans is also the choice of Oracle Java tutorials.
