Hi, thanks in anticipation of any help with following -

Unable to connect to wi-fi network. My security settings low, pop-up blockers off.

Nobody else reportings problems. I have never been able to connect this laptop, to this

particular network since new, 6 months ago, yet never problem elswhere.

“Council Library Wifi” did not allow a connection from this computer.

“Llimited connection”, so no IP address assigned ?.

No tech help, and router is remote.

Any advice on a next step?

Thanks very much ! :spoton:

Do you have the permission, internet connection security/password log-in details that the library may need to provide you with.

Download then run Speccy on the notebook and post the resultant url for us please, details here, this will give us an idea of the hardware specs and any software that could potentially block the connection.

Can you also tell us what steps you are following to try and create a connection between the notebook and the libraries router.

Thanks very much for the reply and for helping out.
Tech-guy visiting yesterday unable to resolve. Discussion with colleagues for all
Edinburgh libraries conclude problem is Win 8.
Previous reports, but not many as no system to capture feedback.
Joins the queue of other issues to be fixed. Like working electricity sockets for a start !
Thanks again :spoton:
