Hi, this is my first post here, great site this one.

Just recentely i found out tha Windows Media Player 10 cant play ani video files. Some i can justen hear the sound, other will not play.

I found out this cause i was running Smartmovie to convert video files to play on mobile phones, and this program couldnt make any convertion. I run WinXp Video Decoder Check up utility and it says that the decoders are not compatible, i dont know how this happen, before everything was working fine, and even Smartmovie was doing its job.

THen i tryed to download several decoder packs, but still no luck, the check up utility says all the codecs installed are not compatible with the synchronization feature of media player 10.

So i would like to ask the pros here how can i solve this.

Thanks so much and sorry for the long post.

Hi. Welcome to Geeks to Go. You need the Divx codec for avi files. Go to www.divx.com and get it. You can get the free version and zap the ads with Ad-Aware.
