Hi all, Do any of you know about vintage (10-20 years old) computer speakers/powered monitors? I've been dissatisfied with the newer offerings under $150 and was wondering if there are any nuggets from the past that may be still available on ebay and CL? American, Japanese, German etc....

I had a set of Altec's years ago that were really good sounding, and built real well.... but I don't remember the model which I guess doesn't really matter. I also had some JBL's w/ an old Compaq box. And I had a nice set of Harmon Kardons at one time too that were pretty good!

I would like to know if there are particular brands that were made years ago that are still considered at, or near audiophile quality. And could be had for a bargain basement price! Thanks, Ron
