OK,
Not sure about that Russian thing.

We have a bit more work to do. For now I'd like to scan with Malwarebytes.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to your desktop
Install the progamme and select update
Once it has updated select Settings > Detection and Protection
Tick Scan for rootkits

MBAMsettings.JPG

Go back to the Dashboard and select Scan Now

MBAMScan.JPG

If threats are detected, click the Apply Actions button, MBAM will ask for a reboot.

MBAMReboot.JPG

MBAMLog.JPG

On completion of the scan (or after the reboot) select View Detailed Log
Select Export > Select text file and save to the desktop
Post that log

Thanks
Joe :)

I would like to see another FRST64 log please:
  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Under Optional Scan place a checkmark in the box for Addition.txt to ensure it creates that 2nd log.
  • Press Scan button.
  • Please post both logs in your next reply.

ESET scan did not create a log.txt file, but the results said, " No threats found.  Scanned files:  179563  Infected files:  0  Cleaned files:  0  Total Scan time:  01:08:05  Scan status:  Finished"

Well, things seem better, thanks to you and your persistence and hard work!  I am afraid I don't know if things are perfect, sorry.  I wonder how many of the antivirus/malware programs with results I should keep, and if they make a difference in how the system is operating.

None of them!

We will remove all the tools now. Please do the following this will remove all programs I had you download and all log files, it will also reset system restore points and create a new one.

I'll keep the thread open for a few days or more in case any issue arises.

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.
  • Run the tool by right click on the 51a5ce45263de-delfix.png icon and Run as administrator option.
  • Make sure that these ones are checked:
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Purge system restore
    • Reset system settings
  • Push Run.
  • The program will run for a few seconds and display a notepad report.
    Paste it for my review.

You're welcome !

You usually get infected because your security settings are too low.

Here are a number of recommendations that will help tighten them, and which will contribute to making you a less likely victim:

Safe Computing Practices please read Here

Thanks

After reading the article on safe computing practices, I downloaded Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) and my AVAST antivirus went crazy blocking malware!  I uninstalled it and hope nothing bad has happened.  So, I am now skeptical about trying to download anything!

Hello,

I'm not aware of any conflicts with Avast and Secunia, but it's possible, so of course uninstalling it was the right thing to do, furthermore I certainly don't want you to be skeptical about trying to download anything. I'll look into the possible issue. Please use the computer as you normally would and let me know of any other issues. This topic is open and will remain open.

Next
Download Security Check by screen317 from Here or Here
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

NOTE: If SecurityCheck aborts and you get the following message: UNSUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEM! ABORTED! try rebooting the system and then run SecurityCheck again.
