Unfortunately yes.

I forgot to add this to my last script of the error I got:

An unspecified error occurred (some numbers with 3f1 on the end).

You correctly uninstalled Advanced SystemCare 8, Ultimate 7 and Malware Fighter, correct? Also, do you have the free or the paid version of Malwarebytes?

The error you are getting from the check disk is often associated with the real-time protection, pre-boot protection of a security software (most likely an Antivirus) enabled. Knowing that you have the free of Malwarebytes, which offers no real-time protection, there should be no such thing present on your system right now. Do you have Windows Defender enabled on your system?

Interesting.

I haven't opened it for a while and now I did.

I read the following notice:

"A problem caused this program's service ti stop. To start the service, click the Start now button or restart your computer."

The last scan was on 01.13.2015 which is about day or two after the error problem (Page fault...).

What to do next?

While I wrote the post above the notice on Windows Defender reads:

No unwanted or harmful software detected.

Your computer is running normally.

I uninstalled the malware bytes too and did the cmd thing with check disk again, and I got the same old story with the error...

Alright, I would like to verify two things as I'm going to bed. First, I would ask you to open an elevated command prompt, like you did to enter the chkdsk command, but this time, enter this one:

sfc /scannow

Once the scan is complete (100%), a message will be returned, please copy/paste in your next reply that message. Once this is done, please download and execute SecurityCheck. A log will be produced and opened at the end of the scan. Once again, copy/paste it in your next reply. You can post one reply per log or both in the same reply, it doesn't matter.

It seems that Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 7 is still present on the system, despite being uninstalled. This could be the reason why the check disk cannot run, as I know of ASC using boot time operations and protection on the disk. I'm going to bed right now, but I'll ask a colleague to post in your thread tomorrow so we can get a certain scan that will tell us what are ASC remnants so we can remove them.

I now see that the desktop icon for Advanced System Care 7 is still present, but can't find the software installed anywhere and I can't uninstall it.

Actually I found it in Program Files and I am doing uninstall from there.

Edit: I tried the chkdsk thing once again after the uninstalling and the error is still here. What a nightmare!

Edit 2: I installed software called Defraggler about the time when the problems started. I think there is an option there 'Boot time defragmentation' and it may produce problems. I will also unisntall Perfect Disk which has the same option and will try the chkdsk thing once again.

Edit 3: Nothing, the error is still here.

Can you re-run SecurityCheck and post the log here? As long as Advanced SystemCare Ultimate 7 is detected in it, I think that there will be a problem with the check disk command.
