Actually, the services were most likely damaged / changed by various malware over the years.  You should not have to use the Repair Tool every time you want to have Windows Updates run; they should run fine now.

 

It would be a good idea to ask your IT department about the Group Policies / User Controls they leave on the system and would they reset them to a non-domain controlled user / system.  Also, this is a Vista Business SP2 installation; some of the Professional or Business levels of the recent Microsoft Windows behave differently than regular consumer versions.

Alright, I think I'm done.  I finished with all the updates and downloads you recommended and the computer seems to be running perfectly.  If there is anything else you think I should do or need me do, just let me know.  Otherwise, I think I'm good.  Thanks again.
