lost dell XP disk

a friend of mine has a Dell computer and it has the XP product key on the side, but he has lost the dell XP disc. His hard drive crashed and he bought a new one, but can not install XP and does not want to buy a copy when he already has a disk. Would dell send one for free because we have the product key or does is there a download online somewhere? i could not find one on the dell site. thanks

But he doesn't have the disk. He lost the disk. In that case you need to purchase a new disk. Dell won't send a free reinstallation disk regardless of whether or not you have the product key.
