In looking over your discussions and downloads I do not see any data on registry checkers. Do they actually solve problems or are they mostly tune-ups. Would you use one and/or can you recommend one?

This isn't free (but only $12) but I can highly recommend it cos I use it myself. http://www.macecraft.com/regsupreme/
It's never let me down and it has never corrupted my registry.
Cleaning out redundant or incorrect entries is very important for the smooth running of Windows. Redundant entries make the registry larger than it needs to be so Windows take longer to start, while incorrect entries can cause program errors.
