I am using WinXP. I am getting alot of error messages when I startup, restart, and shut down the computer. Here are some of the error messages I am receiving.

1.wuauclt.exe - DLL Initialization Failed

 explorer.exe - "                                    "

 msiexec.exe - "                                    "

2.End Program - rundll32.exe This program is not responding.

3.msdtc.exe - Application error - The instruction at " forgot to write down" referenced memory at "                      ." The memory could not be "read"

                                                    Click on OK to terminate the program.

4.C:\Program Files\Avira\Avira Desktop\avcenter.exe

    Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. For more information, open Event Viewer or contact your system administrator.

Can this computer be fixed? If so thanks for the help.

Let's take a closer look at your start-up entries, this way we'll be able to identify the errors you're having. We'll also check the errors in the Event Viewer.

Follow the instructions below to give me an Autoruns log containing your start-up entries:
  • Download Autoruns.zip from the Sysinternals Suite webpage;
  • Extract the content of the Autoruns.zip folder where you want, then go in the folder, right-click on Autoruns.exe and select Run as Administrator;
  • Accept the EULA on opening, then wait for all the entries to load;
  • Click on File then Save and save the file to a location easily accessible;
  • Go on ge.tt and upload the Autoruns file you saved;
  • Once done, post the download URL of your uploaded file in your next reply;

  • Download MiniToolBox and move the executable file to your Desktop;
  • Execute MiniToolBox and check the following options:
    • List Installed Programs;
    • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;

  • Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply;

Please save the Autoruns file in the .arn format, and not .txt :)

I noticed presence of malware on your system. Before I continue assisting you with your issue, I'll ask you to get checked in the malware removal section of GeeksToGo. There you'll be assisted by a trained malware removal helper that will help you get rid of every infection on your system. In order to do that, you have to post a thread in the Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal section. You have to follow the instructions in the preparation guide prior to posting your thread, since it contains the steps to follow when posting it. Once you've been declared clean by your helper, you are free to comeback in this thread so we can continue working on your current issue, if it wasn't solved during your malware clean-up :)

Okay well I cannot clean the computer because when I try to use my anti-virus program it gives me that error.

Someone was helping me with the malware and said the computer was cleaned. I cannot use the Super AntiSpyware program because I get that same error message.

You'll have to post a thread in the malware removal section and a trained helper will assist you with your issue bryan :) You won't be using Avira for that clean-up, no worries. Your helper will make you use other specialized tools.
