I have a deadline with my paying job right now, so I can look at this later. It still has a great deal of malware.

For now, go in add/remove programs and get rid of these entries of they're there, including:

Weatherbug
Lycos SideSearch
'BrowserAid' or 'CashToolbar' (CashToolbar variant)
'Web Toolbar' (ABCSearch variant)
or 'BrowserPal' (BrowserPal variant).
freescan
spywarrior
What is Snowmate? If you don't know, remove the program.

Clean out your temp files and reboot.

have you run a trojan scan? If not, run

www.moosoft.com

Try running adaware (not the VX2) again.

Clean out temp files. Reboot and post a new log.

First, we need to remove the pepper trojan. Download this file, run, and let terminate (it'll just blink briefly on your screen and won't appeared to have done much--this is normal):

i know snowmate is not the problem, it is a snow report program in colorado, and i've run weather bug for numerous years now, so unless it's a known transporter of a problem i'd like to leave it. i'll do the rest whenever i get home. thanks for the quick replies.

Please Download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and Run the Program. Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows. Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button and remove all traces of [osmim.dll]. Reboot.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

I highly you suggest you uninstall "Spyware Begone" through the Control Panel. See, "Rip-off Removal Tools" in my signature below. "Weather Bug" is adware, uninstall it to protect your privacy and also fix its 016 entry:

If you aren't going to ever reload any of the unchecked items in msconfig, just fix them using HJT:

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk.disabled
O4 - Global Startup: Quicken Scheduled Updates.lnk.disabled
O4 - Global Startup: Quicken Startup.lnk.disabled

If you don't want the Quicktime tray icon, fix this one too:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

If you don't have any bills to be reminded of:

This folder is fishy, delete it in safe mode if you don't know what it is. How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files:
C:\Program Files\SnowMate\

If you don't want the Real button in IE, do the same to:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Shdocvw.dll

and fix the entry:
O9 - Extra button: Real.com - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\Shdocvw.dll

This line needs fixed in HJT as well:
