AIM Won't Run

I have a fairly new machine, which I know greatly exceeds the minimum requirements for aim. After about month of having AIM, I upgraded to newest version and suddenly AIM simply wouldn't run. I click the icon and nothing happens. Any ideas on what I should try?

For the last few months I switched to GAIM, which is much better in many respects, but I'm tired of not being able to send and recieve files from all my friends.

Try completely uninstalling AIM then install it again.

I've tried to do that many times, and even tried installing previous versions and none of them work. Any ideas on where to start?
