Hello Kim (AlwaysInNeed) and welcome to Geeks to Go

As an introduction, please note that I am not Superhuman, I do not know everything, but what I do know has taken me years to learn. I am happy to pass on this information to you, but please bear in mind that I am also fallible.

Before we get underway, you may wish to print these instructions for easy reference during the fix, although please be aware that many of the required URLs are hyperlinks in the red names shown on your screen. Part of the fix may require you to be in Safe Mode, which may not allow you to access the internet, or my instructions!

You have quite a mixture of malware and Trojans that need to be eradicated. This will take a few hits to put right, please be patient.

I note that you are running HijackThis from a Temporary Folder; please create a new folder for it (for example C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\Hijackthis.exe) and move the programme into it. It is very important you do this before anything else since backup files can be deleted if they are not within their own folder!

To start please download the following programmes, we will run them later. Please save them to a place that you will remember, I suggest the Desktop:

Killbox by Option^Explicit
CWShredder
CCleaner

Go to Start>Run and type Services.msc then hit OK
Scroll down and find these services:

System Startup Service (SvcProc)
WebSeach Toolbar support NT service (TBPSSvc)

When you find them, double-click on each. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on Properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then OK.

Run HiJackThis. Click on None of the above, just start the program. Now, click on the Config button (bottom right), then click on Misc Tools, then click on Delete an NT Service a window will pop up. Enter this item into that field (copy and paste), do this for both entries:

SvcProc
TBPSSvc

Click OK.

It should pull up information about the service, when it asks if you want to reboot now click YES

Please open the trial version of Ewido Security Suite, and update the definitions to the latest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Safe Mode

Run Ewido Security Suite.
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The programme will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The programme will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
    • Binder
    • Crypter
    • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the programme scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop and include it in your reply.
Now please install CWShredder, and run it. Click Check For Update, then Fix and then OK followed by Next, let it fix everything it asks about

Right click on this link Del 015 Domains.inf and choose Save (link) As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). Please do not delete it afterward, I think we'll need it again in the future.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Please install Killbox by Option^Explicit.

*Extract the programme to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the programme.
*In the Killbox programme, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*Open the text file with these instructions in it, and copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\Program Files\Cas\Client\casclient.exe
C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe
C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe
C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

*Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

*Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

There is almost certainly bound to be some junk (leftover bits and pieces) on your system that is doing nothing but taking up space. I would recommend that you run CCleaner. Install it, update it, check the default setting in the left-hand pane, Analyze, Run Cleaner. You may be fairly surprised by how much it finds.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and also an Uninstall Log:

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click Save List (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

and I will take another look.

Please reply with all three logs as requested.

Thanks for the instructions, I'm on the step with using safe mode. Will safe mode delete files on my computer, if so is there a way I can skip around that step and get results.

Hello again Kim

You have to delete files to regain control of your PC. Safe mode is exactly what it says - Safe. In safe mode, your OS, Windows does not load all startups, which would make some files difficult to delete. Safe mode does nothing other than present your OS in a state ready for manipulation. We then manipulate it the way we want it.

Is there a problem with the fix / my instructions?

I had some problems after putting my computer in Safe Mode, the internet wouldn't work for some reason and that made Ewido and CWShredder not work. I did use hijack this and here is my log.

Hello again Kim

The reason I like to run certain fixes in safe mode is because they have a greater chance of success. You will not have internet access in safe mode, so for that reason, I request downloading before going into safe mode.

I’ll do this fix from your latest HJT log. If you have any questions, please ask, we are acutely aware that victims arriving on this site have different levels of expertise. We are here to help, including Live Chat. Please let me assure you, that safe mode does nothing other than load a minimal set of drivers for windows to work. It does NOT do harm to your PC.

I try to make my fixes easy to follow, and they are all tried and tested. Please do not suffer in silence, but the fixes have to be done for your PC to be clean. The alternative, reformatting, is not for novices, I assure you.

I note that you are running HijackThis from the Desktop; please create a new folder for it (for example C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\Hijackthis.exe) and move the programme into it. It is very important you do this before anything else since backup files can be deleted if they are not within their own folder!

Install Ewido Security Suite (it is a 14-day trial version of the programme).

Right click on this link Del 015 Domains.inf and choose Save (link) As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnruvk.exe reg_run
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CAS Client] "C:\Program Files\Cas\Client\casclient.exe"
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.63.219.181.7
O18 - Protocol: tpro - (no CLSID) - (no file)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Please now reboot into safe mode. Here's how:

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap the F8 key. A menu should appear where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please delete this folder (if present) using Windows Explorer:

C:\Program Files\Cas\

Please delete these files (if present) using Windows Explorer:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\pnruvk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

Close Windows Explorer and Reboot normally

Download rkfiles and unzip the contents to a new folder on your desktop.
Download remv3.zip Make a new folder on the root drive C:\ and unzip remv3.zip files into it.

Run CCleaner programme now and then logoff.

REBOOT TO SAFE MODE. These tools MUST be run in Safe Mode!
Once in safe mode, double click rkfiles.bat file to run it. It will scan for a while, so please be patient. Wait until the DOS window closes. Open the C:\log.txt it created and rename (right click on it and choose rename) it log1.txt.

Now open the folder where you saved remv3.zip files and double click the rem.bat file and let it run (please be patient, the window will close when done). It will delete the files and remove the infection and then make a log of the files it finds. The log file will be C:\log.txt and bad1.txt

**Note** Each tool uses log.txt as it’s output file so make sure you save the entries from one tools log before running the other as it will overwrite the file if you don’t.

Reboot back to normal mode and post the contents of both the log.txt and log1.txt in your next post.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and I will take another look.
