A friend of mine gave me his old HP Dv7 to tinker with. When I got it, It wouldn't turn on and didn't register that the battery was in the laptop. After fixing some minor electrical connection issues I can get it to boot up, and get to the desktop. However it shuts off after ten minutes or so. No overheating or anything, Just no battery life. I've never encountered slitaz before. I've attempted to start the laptop in recovery mode but it doesn't register when pressing f11.

:welcome:   lassy,

Not familiar with Slitaz so cant help with that I'm afraid, the computer turning off I may be able to help but will need some clarification first.

What OS is presently installed on the HDD.

Will the computer stay on if the AC adaptor is used instead of relying on just the battery.
