NOT for gaming, but instead for general use; coding etc.

Needs to be able to cope with a 4K monitor (to be purchased separately), and have i7 core. Budget max of around £1200 with an OS, less if possible.

Good to see you again imczechh.

From your other post, I understand this build is for a friend.

I would advise extreme caution before buying a 4K monitor.   A great deal of research should be done and a must, is to see demo's of the screen you are going to buy.   The tech is still very new and there are heaps of issues yet to be addressed.

Scaling at such a high resolution is a major problem, Windows desktop can be adjusted but 3rd party application like Adobe software, (execpt Photoshop) look terrible, > http://www.pcgamer.c...isplay-scaling/

Some extracts from one article, please research more.

"Refresh rates with 4K panels are also somewhat of a concern. A number of the more affordable 4K displays currently on the market offer only 30Hz refresh rates. . . "

"Gamers will need a powerful graphics card—and most likely powerful graphics cards—to achieve playable frame rates at 4K resolutions...In a relatively taxing game like Crysis 3, for example, even a mighty GeForce GTX 980 can only muster about 16 to 20 frames per second when high in-game image quality settings are used..."

Most other major issues are covered, > http://www.pcworld.c...c-displays.html

I would wait till mid 2016.

Before I post a build, please confirm.

There will be no serious, gaming, photo/video/audio editing?

Please give some info on the type of coding, game programming / 3d modelling?   Will there be running multiple VMs for debugging?

Minus the 4K monitor then, as I am not sure what the exact use will be. I just know they want crisp detail as it is easier to code with. Less than £1200 budget.

Sorry for the late reply.

As requested an i7 build, balanced with 16GB of RAM for demanding applications.   Video card will give excellent streaming performance, 4K support @ 60Hz though games will need to be lower than ultra setting.    We can discuss later for the type of monitor to use.

Suggested build to consider.   > http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/TPK83C

Don't like to be picky but is there a less 'flashy' case, I mean with no windows. Just a high quality all black case.

Also, what does 'overridden' mean?

Here's the Enthoo, plain, still my first choice in this price range, > http://www.cclonline...Window/CAS1890/

 "silenced" cases> http://www.cclonline...Lp58BpbBs0y2FYQ

With external Hot Dock, > http://www.morecompu...n=Cooler Master

Need more?

Also, what does 'overridden' mean?

I have selected a different suppler than the CPP default one as after calculating delivery, it works out cheaper.

Gday.

Did your friend find any of the suggested chassis suitable?   Need any changes to the existing configuration?
