My niece called and asked me why when she uses her tablet or phone with wifi she gets redirected to gambling sites or porn but if she uses her computer that is connected directly to the router she has no problem. Can anyone explain how this can be. Very confusing. ginnyjoe

It must be because you have downloaded applications which contains hidden functions which causes pop ups. You should  tap the “Menu” icon in the browser. Open the Settings menu, then click the “Advanced” tab. In the Advanced Settings screen is a “Block Pop-ups” section that enables the feature. IN google Chrome open the Settings menu, then select the “Show Advanced Settings” tab. Click the “Content Settings” option in the Privacy section of the Advanced Settings menu. Select the “Manage Exceptions” tab. Here, you can enter the IP addresses of the sites for which you want to block pop-ups. Hope you find it useful.

Her computers are fine nothing gets redirected. It is only her Ipad or smart phone that it does it to. I was wondering if there could be a virus in the router. She went to macdonalds to use their wifi and it did not redirect it there.

We figured out what it is. The Java is the problem. When it is turned off everything's fine. So she just turns it on when needed.

great that you found the solution. It would have been difficult to get to this much.  :D
