Hi guys, i would like to ask for some advice regarding on should i upgrade my pc to improve its speed.

I have a Windows Vista Home Basic, My pc is already 9 years old and i can tell that it is already getting slower in launching applications(especially with other applications opened). I had done some research to resolve this issue like using ccleaner, defragmentation, uninstalling applications and other stuff, but i still can't see any improvement. The only thing that i haven't tried is upgrading, the problem is What to upgrade and would it improve my pc's speed? I hope you can help me guys with this issue cause as much as possible i don't want to spend money on a new pc.

The only real option for upgrading a system that old would be adding additional RAM if you've got less than 4 GB, adding a SSD for the OS install, and upgrading the GPU.  The e-series C2Ds were actually excellent overclockers as well, but you'd need some experience with that and I'm guessing your bios has limited overclocking options.  After 9 years I'd say you've gotten a great ROI and it might be time to consider a new system.
