Ok so Im building my system and was wondering with this cpu,fan and case, with thermal compound should I add a cpu duct or is that just a wast of my time. Keep in mind that I am not going to be overclocking. The fan has 2 fans but Im still not sure. Thanks for your help again! Also, I do want to use the compound and not a pad correct?

You should not need a fan duct in fact they can restrick airflow inside the case that is needed to cool other components.

I see you are going to use a after market hsf (heatsink fan) these don't normally come with a pad so yes you will need thermal compound, most hsf will come with compound but I prefer to use artic silver5 its much better. Make sure you follow the instructions on artic sivers website to apply.

My dell had a cpu duct, and the heatsink had a pad. I'm am finding that it works much better, and running cooler after removing the cpu duct, and using thermal compound. So, I would say no cpu duct.
