Currently running win 7 Pro and for several weeks have been having problems with updates not installing and failing. This includes the win 10 update which it has tried to download for the last 4 days.

Have tried windows Fixit but I get an error stating:  'The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation'.

I have ran sfc/scannow and the results are below:

'Windows ResouceProtection did not find any intergrity violations.'

The error codes i am receiving are:

Important updates

kb3057154

kb30667505

Other updates

kb2830477

kb2574819

kb2592687

Some updates it does do but the important ones listed above it has been trying to download and install for several days

Appreciate any help and apologies if I do not reply immediately - time variance.

With any specific error code?

Please run the Microsoft fix tool for Windows Update problems available on the following link:
https://support.micr...en-us/kb/971058

After this restart the computer and then try to install updates, if you see any error code please post the code.

I discovered that by doing a restore on internet explorer it resolved the problem. Tx to all those that offered advice.
