Download and run the McAfee Consumer Product Removal (MCPR) tool:

Download the MCPR tool from: http://us.mcafee.com...s/mcpr/mcpr.aspand save it to a folder on your computer.

Hello lynyona,

Thank you for the update which would appear to be good news  :)

As you now have a stable computer it is important that you ensure that you have a system restore point for the present settings, please see the tutorial at the attached link provided courtesy of Brink here

See how things go and if all is ok let us know and we can look to help you with setting up the wireless connection.

Edit to add:

As McAfee is a paid for product I suggest that you contact them to see if they are able to assist with either a reimbursement of your funds or the stable installation of their product on your computer, McAfee Technical Support for Home and Home Office details here if you do contact McAfee Support it may help their Tech Support if you include a link to this thread so that they can see what troubleshooting steps have been done

Just need to add more thanks on my sons behalf> since my coming on the forum about my computer and your advice removing MacAfee He has also uninstalled it off his laptop which he d only had three weeks when it stopped working properly .it as now updated and running perfectly like when he bought it. I'm going to give MacAfee the benefit of the doubt maybe we should have changed settings along the line somewhere but I don't think I will be using it again.im not so much bothered about it as I got it as a special offer bought it with my tower but id been most annoyed if id paid full price for it ..
