This depends on the corruption range.  Sometimes this bug is reported when the physical number of records does not correspond to file size (it is good), sometimes it means ovewritten file... Go to the full post »

I'm not able to open Clipper application (app is 15 years old) because i'm getting :
 
error dbfntx/1012 corruption detected
 
Anyway to fix corrupted dbf besides restore from last backup?
 
Please advise.

This depends on the corruption range. 
 
Sometimes this bug is reported when the physical number of records does not correspond to file size (it is good), sometimes it means ovewritten file heading which is not so good but you may replace this heading by one from the backup, sometimes the curruption affects even data the the restore older file is the best choice.
 
Backup the corrupted file and try some of many DBF repair or recovery utilities (http://www.dbf.repair/ - DBF Repair Kit or search Google for more). 
 
You may ZIP the DBF (and possible memo) and post it here to allow some expert file overview. (EE does not allow DBF upload, you have to add .TXT extension to your files.)
