The last week or so, I've noticed that my system is crashing more and more. No pop-up error messages or report crash messages, it just totally freezes. I have to go into Task manager and end the flash Player process and also Firefox to regain control. I tried updating Flash, but it still freezes. I have version 10.0.0.226. I have Windows 7 - 64 bit as the OS and Firefox as the browser (41.0.2). In the Task Manager, it looks like Flash in running twice (see attached screenshot). What's going on?

I went to the local library to see what they used. I opened the Firefox browser and looked under Add Ons and Plug-Ins and didn't see Adobe Flash. They have Shockwave, QuickTime and something called Open H264 Video Codec. Can any of these be used in lieu of Flash Player?
