please help - i have the dell jukebox 15gb model, and its giving me a harddisk error

i had the problem once before, and stupidly enough it fixed itself when i dropped it!!

i have tried all of the options on its "self fix" startup mode,

1 clean up (does nothing)
2 reformat all (if i say yes it says "harddisk problem)
3 reformat firmware (i haven't said yes yet cause i think i lost my disk >:tazz:
4 reboot (brings you back to the page again)

please help if anyone has had this similar error

i tried to open the back and see if i could fix anything but the battery pack seems to be glued(?) to the internal hard drive

is there anyway to just buy a harddrive and replace it? or it probably needs to be a special dell one compatible with the jukebox software

best bet is gonna be to contact dell tech support. if its under warranty, they should fix it for you. they can be difficult sometimes, but if it under warranty, then you have every right to demand its repair.

I dont know anything about trying to fix those little suckers. short of making sure the drive is connected properly (is there a cable or does it seat into pins on the controller board?), Im not gonna be much help. sorry.
try doing a google search, maybe someone has posted a troubleshooting thing for it.
