Hello everyone,

Looking for help regarding upgrading RAM in my Gateway FX6000. I have PCI slots, I believe, to upgrade, currently holding 6 DDR3 1GB cards. I want to upgrade to 16GB. Is this possible? I can buy two 4GB RAM cards from Ebay rather cheap, but I don't know if the motherboard can handle this upgrade.

Currently I have 3 older looking RAM and three PC3 10666 Platinum Series 1 GB cards. Also, there are 3 white PCI slots with the older RAM and three blue with the newer lokking PC3 10666 RAM.

If anyone can help me out this would be great.

I am going to upgrade my graphics card as well.

:welcome: LUCMARK

We need more info,Please download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here,  this will provide us with information about your computer hardware  as there are a number of models in that series, > http://www.memory4le...pid=17000&id=41

Providing I have the right model, this RAM, > http://www.memoryupg...oryUpgrade.html

You can use the system scanner to confirm RAM, > https://www.crucial.com/

for best performance your RAM needs to be in sets of 3, triple channel mode, 6 x 2GB sticks = 12GB max supported on the MB.

We also need the make and model of your PSU to determine what class of GPU you could use.

Been a while since we heard from you.   Do you need further help or have you solved the issue?   An update would be appreciated.

Thanks.
