Happy New Year, Phillpower!

In brief, I am checking all services, one by one, but it's a slow process.

Happy New Year BerDov  :)

Aye it is rather time consuming I'm afraid, not in any rush here so take as long as you need

Thanks for checking, Philpower!

Things are going slow. I may have maybe 10-20 services left to check. I discovered that some services stay disabled even after being re-enabled in the sysconfig application. A few days ago, my sound disappeared, yesterday the internet connection, i.e. network. After searching the web, I learned they can be reactivated in services.msc. So, I check the status of every service and, if its status  is still "stopped", change it's Startup type to Automatic in services.msc. Hopefully, I did not do anything wrong.

After everything is finished, I will report.

;-)

To help move things along, try doing five at a time and test, if no issues try the next five, if an issue try disabling the last five one at a time until you identify the culprit.

You are doing ok btw and you are welcome  :)

I thought I posted this last week, not sure why it does not show:

========

Thank you, phillpower, for being so pro-active. I appreciate it more than I can express in words.

I finished checking all services two nights ago, I think, but was slow with the report because of… well, because I realized it was all in vain.

Every time I activated another service, I would wait about 5 min, watching the memory and the CPU consumption.  Everything was fine.  The freezing of the computer occurs, seemingly, at random, so 5 min after startup does not look a proper test.

It looks almost as if someone takes over my computer. This week it happened on two days around 1600, yesterday it started at 1100. It lasts about 90 min and then everything is back to normal. CPU drops to 1-5%, Free Memory goes up to 500MB or whatever.

Any creative ideas?

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Must have been a temporary blip somewhere, no harm done but glad that I checked back with you

Couple of suggestions, the first one is to post an Autoruns log for us, see here

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.

2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".

3: Click on the "Everything" tab

4: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.

5: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop.

6: Attach to your next reply.

Tutorial here

Next, I would normally suggest that you run the following from source but that would slow things down more due to the need for an internet connection, so, download Process Explorer from here, when the computer next slows down, use Process Explorer to see what is hogging the system resources.
