In regedit I still found [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AntivirusGold]
I did nopt dare to delete anything myself inside regedit, but I followed these instructions:
Copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as AVGoldfix.reg
Set Filetype to All Files and save it somewhere easy to find. We will use it later.
(make sure that REGEDIT4 is the first line of the file)

this did remove the AntivirusGold entry in the local machines, and this also removed an entry [_HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Desktop\Components\1} which prior existed, now there only a Component 0 remains.

Your M:\Drive was not listed in any of the HijackThis los you posted I would check all you usb drive for any infection.

You can remove the Powerbar but I do not know what progam that may be.

Hi again,
apparently everythin is normal now.
I run adaware, spybot, Ewido and Panda and nothing was found.
I had deleted that one file in the M drive and all the scan had been made with all my HDs connected.
I hope that we are about done, thank you very much for all your help.
One more question I'd have: From that log, can you see which programs open on startup? I'd like to enable only the essential to open at startup, e.g. I do not use MSN messenger and want it to disable to load at startup or get rid of it altogether.

This certainly has been a big learning experience!
I try to follow the advice. The downloaded Winpatrol would not install however, it seems to be for Windows NT only. Spywareblaster is just on it's way.
