i am using win xp sp2. A folder is automatically opening on system startup and this is proving to be a little irritating everytime..it is an application's folder..i tried to find the entry in msconfig which is responsible for making this folder open everytime i start xp but in vain..can anyone tell me what is to be done?..thanlk u

"Webster's New World Dictionary and Thesaurus" ..I think it was developed for the win95 platform..very old software..

In hijack, try checking that and choosing FIX, then reboot.

I had the same thing happen to me... I had placed a shortcut to a folder into my startup folder. Thus resulting in seeing "My Videos" every time I booted. That would be the simple explanation. Plus that won't show up in msconfig, so you wouldn't see it.

i formatted my hard drive yesterday..but i will install the WNW software again and i will tell you if your idea works out..thanks once again..
