Where is the file located? Is it on a server? Can you try copying it to the hard drive of the PC itself and try opening it there? Also, try using File | Open instead of double-clicking to open the... Go to the full post »

When I try to open a PPTX file in PowerPoint 2011, I get "There was an error accessing <file>". It is not opens on another PC also.

Where is the file located? Is it on a server? Can you try copying it to the hard drive of the PC itself and try opening it there?
Also, try using File | Open instead of double-clicking to open the file. Sometimes that helps. Try to do a repair on disk permissions also. If it’s doesn’t helps then try to repair file via PPTX Repair Kit http://www.pptx.repair/   Let me know about results.
