So I wanted make a copy of a picture with all the personal info removed like this:

delete-exif-metadata-in-windows-explorer

But it didn't work because it said that it was already opened in COM surrogate, so I followed the steps on this page: http://thetechtermin...e-from-windows/But something went wrong after step 15 and now nothing happens when I right click on a picture and then click on properties. All other options when I do a right click do work. Also COM surrogate is no longer in the list of Task Manager, even though I didn't delete it yet. Anyone who knows what to do?

Sorry it's taken so long for anyone to respond to your problem. Do you still need help?

If so, I would start by running sfc /scannow from a Elevated Command Prompt as follows:

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

Click Start, type cmd. Right click on cmd.exe at the top and select Run as Administrator.
In the Command Prompt window, type sfc /scannow and press Enter (Note the space between c and /)

Let it run to completion.

All:
Reboot and see how things are. Hopefully this will restore Com Surrogate.
