I have a 1TB  "G Technology" external drive, (G Drive), and a FireWire cable.  My PC doesn't have FireWire.  I think that's only for Mac?

So anyway, I'd like to be able to connect the external drive to the PC.  Can I use a FireWire to USB adapter?

i think your best option would be to fit a pci-e firewire card into your motherboard if it has a spare pci-e slot. something like this :- http://www.amazon.co...true&pldnSite=1

it's much more likely to work than a straight firewire to usb adaptor from my understanding, plus the data transfer speeds are going to be much faster using it if you only have the more common usb 2.0 ports on your pc.

Thanx but that aint gonna happen!  :)  I remember my uncle.  He was old!  My cousin helped him whenever he had a problem with his computer.  Now I'm that old man!  My uncle and my cousin are dead!!!!  I'm gonna move all the data from the C drive to the D drive.  Then do an "almost" clean install of Win 10.  The only thing I want back on the C drive along with the OS is Steam, (with my games).  I'll use a thumb drive to get Win 10.  After that I'll deal with the external drive.

If you know of a backup program better than Macrium Reflect, (one that'll do regular backups), (and is totally free), I think that's what I'll need soon.

Thanx for you help!  :)
