remove the phone from the room and try turning on the tv then, got a feeling the repetitive mode is switched on so the phone is continuously turning the tv off when you're trying to turn it on.

If you activate the repetitive-mode, your phone will transmit the off signals over and over again, even when you close the Application or lock your screen.
This way, you can simply deploy your phone in front of a TV and the TV will turn itself off again whenever somebody tries to switch it on.

ok. remove power from the tv for a minute or so then reconnect it, also check to make sure the batteries in the tv remote are good. (sounds silly but make sure it is the tv remote your using too and not one for a digital box or something.)

if still no joy, then sorry i don't what else to try.
