I am using Excel for Mac, Version 15.20 (160315) and have not been able to copy sheets within a workbook, or to another workbook, either.

My process:

  1. Right click on the sheet's tab
  2. Select "Copy or Move..."
  3. No change to the "To book:" or "Before sheet:" choices
  4. Check the "Create a copy" box
  5. Click the "OK" button

Some message appears at the bottom, where "Ready" normally is, however, it is gone before I have any chance of reading it. Other than that flicker of "Ready", nothing happens.

I have turned OFF all sheet and workbook protections.

I have disabled macros when I opened the file.

Can anybody tell me what might be going wrong or what I could do to further diagnosis the problem?

Is there some restriction when copying sheets that have VBA attached to them? If so, is there a message that persists long enough to be read?

Thanks!
