I'm considering moving my desktop upstairs, any tips for going about it? Any wires or anything I need to worry about? I have a HP desktop and I'm using Windows 8.1.

Most important don't drop it, I have done it. Don't forgot the windows password if you have one :)

Make a mental note where everything is connected to the back of the desktop. Or take a picture of it now.

Some desktops can have 2 video outpus,(Monitor) 2 Ethernet connections etc , especially if stand alone cards were added. This is the case with mine, but mines older then yours probably.
