Hi ram_hyd and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Go to Geeks to Go
. Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window. (make sure you have signed in first)
. In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
. If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. Download the following program HOSTER.
Unzip and run the program. You will be presented with a screen where you will find the following option:Restore Microsoft Original Hosts. Press it and Close the program.

4. Please download Winhelp2002's Deldomains.inf to your desktop.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install

5. Please follow the instructions provided, you may want to print out these instructions and use them as a reference.

Please download ewido security suite it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
    • Binder
    • Crypter
    • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
6. Reboot your machine and post back a new HJT log and the ewido .txt log file you saved by using Add Reply

HI ram_hyd, Good job.

I probably should have told you that you wouldn't see any change at the beginning. We have to get rid of a lot of junk first. This next step is the start of the work on your desktop. This procedure works a lot of the time. If it doesn't, we have alternate means of eradicating this malware.

1. Run HijackThis. Click on "Config...", "Misc Tools", "Open process manager". Select the following files and click on "Kill process". Answer Yes to the "Are you sure..." question.

desktop.exe

edmond.exe

ffisearch.exe

2. Launch Wordpad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as fixme.reg and save it on your Desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{5b4ab8e2-6dc5-477a-b637-bf3c1a2e5993}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{950238fb-c706-4791-8674-4d429f85897e}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mfiltis]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\ext\clsid\{5b4ab8e2-6dc5-477a-b637-bf3c1a2e5993}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\enum\root\legacy_delprot]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\services\delprot]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"desktop search"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ffis"=-

3. Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it.
You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer "Yes" and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".

4. Restart your computer.

5. Launch Wordpad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as Unreg.bat and save it on your Desktop.

regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\isrvs\msfiltis.dll
regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\isrvs\msdbhk.dll
regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\isrvs\sysupd.dll

Locate Unreg.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it.

6. Delete the following files/folders (if present) in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32
delprot.ini

delprot.log

desktop.exe

isrvs (delete the entire folder)

Delete the following file: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Delprot.sys

Delete the following files/folder (if present) in C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Desktop
anal exploits.url

big d*** school for 2.95.url

evidence eraser.lnk

popup blocker stops popups.lnk

spyware avenger.lnk

virus hunter security.lnk

your platinum visa.lnk

7. REBOOT your system

8. Run HJT, click SCAN, produce a LOG and Post it into this thread for review.

Hi ram_hyd,

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Now let's do some work on your log:

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

O2 - BHO: AzEntretien Class - {0d2def3a-f4f1-42ec-ac4f-132e7ba6e292} - %SystemRoot%\azentretien.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: SABHO - {21B4ACC4-8874-4AEC-AEAC-F567A249B4D4} - c:\program files\180searchassistant\salmhook.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AA2A6D3E-AE8F-D82C-D8E7-A50FD3E71997} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\tgowuh.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AA2A6F4A-AE8F-D82C-D8E7-A50FD393199A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\tgowuh.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: ZToolbar Activator Class - {da7ff3f8-08be-4cac-bc00-94d91c6ae7f4} - C:\WINDOWS\azesearch4.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [INetBooster] C:\Program Files\OSS\Internet Booster\ISpBos.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Intel system tool] C:\WINDOWS\System32\hookdump.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Red Swoosh EDN Client] C:\Program Files\RSSoft\RSEDNClient.exe
O16 - DPF: {031B6D43-CBC4-46A5-8E46-CF8B407C1A33} - http://qck.cc/x/ipreg32.cab
O16 - DPF: {D7BF3304-138B-4DD5-86EE-491BB6A2286C} - http://www.azebar.co.../azesearch3.cab
O16 - DPF: {FF0C042C-98E9-4C36-B2EC-E21FDFDCEF75} (InstallCtl Class) - http://download.reds...ller/rssoft.cab
O18 - Filter: text/html - (no CLSID) - (no file)

If the following DNS Server: Hathway IP Over Cable Internet Access Service is absolutely foreing to you, please include this item in the fix:(make sure though)

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{9AD64ABB-5931-42C9-8DD6-3676800E6B10}: NameServer = 202.88.174.6,202.88.130.67

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

FILES

C:\WINDOWS\System32\hookdump.exe
azentretien.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\tgowuh.dll
C:\WINDOWS\azesearch4.dll

FOLDERS (with all their content)

C:\Program Files\RSSoft
C:\Program Files\OSS
c:\program files\180searchassistant

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Regards,

Trevuren

OK, here is the plan, I have to disinfect all your PC, THEN do the desktop. I am hoping that this will be the last with the bad stuff.

1. Please download Fix_Protocol_zones_ranges.reg by Nellie from MWR

2. Open the zip file and extract the regfile to your desktop.

3. Double click Fix_Protocol_zones_ranges.reg and allow it to merge with the registry.

4. REBOOT your system.

5. Run HijackThis and with all windows closed except for HJT, click SCAN, and place a checkmark beside the following item:

O3 - Toolbar: AZE Search - {a19ef336-01d4-48e6-926a-fe7e1c747aed} - C:\WINDOWS\azesearch4.dll (file missing)

Now click Fix checked and EXIT the program.

6. REBOOT into Safe Mode

7. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (IF IT EXISTS):

C:\WINDOWS\azesearch4.dll

8. REBOOT your system into Normal Mode

9. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

NOTE: Now also provide a detailed description again of all the problems with your desktop.

Regards,

Trevuren

We will try this first:

1. Copy all the text (Copy + Paste) in the Quote Box to Notepad. Save file as desktop.reg and "All Files" as the type of file

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoActiveDesktopChanges"=hex:00,00,00,00
"NoActiveDesktop"=dword:00000000
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
"ClassicShell"=dword:00000000
"NoThemesTab"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

"NoDispBackgroundPage"=dword:00000000
"NoDispScrSavPage"=dword:00000000
"NoDispCPL"=dword:00000000
"NoVisualStyleChoice"=dword:00000000
"NoDispSettingsPage"=dword:00000000
"NoDispScrSavPage"=dword:00000000
"NoVisualStyleChoice"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
"NoChangingWallPaper"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ThemeManager]
"ThemeActive"="1"
"DllName"=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,\

2. If you have done this correctly, the file will look like a blue cube on your desktop.

3. Doubleclick desktop.reg and when the program ask you permission to merge,, answer YES.

4. REBOOT your system.

5. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.
