All files on my laptop and passport external drive have been encrypted with this ransomware (LOCKY) . It Changed file extension to "ODIN"

Most importantly it encrypted all my kids pics on my passport external drive.

At this time, there is no known way to decrypt files encrypted by Locky.

If you are affected by ransomware and do not plan on paying the ransom, the best bet it to immediately image the drive before doing anything else. Then in the future if there is a way to decrypt the files you have everything you may need to do so.

Surprisingly, on a recent test Locky did not properly wipe the Shadow Volume Copies. So we suggest that everyone try recovering their files using Shadow Volumes in the event that they were not deleted correctly.
