Hello there,

Just to let you know that Terry extremely kindly sent me the old DVD writer with an IDE connector which he found in an old PC. This afternoon, I successfully managed to install it (with only one teeny blip where I thought I had messed the whole computer up!  :) ) and it is working well.

So..... now I have replaced the DVD drive on my desktop and my notebook, as well as buying a new DVD recorder for our TV equipment! I think I am seriously in DVD overdrive now!

Thanks so much to everyone who helped me with this. It was bit of a long journey (methinks I seem to specialise in them!) - but we got there in the end!

Cheers,

Chris

Hello Chris,

Great news, glad to hear that you now have an abundance of working DVD drives  :)

A big thanks to Terry for his assistance and provision of the DVD drive, over and above what anyone could be expected to do but done in the true spirit of our GTG colleagues

You are welcome btw and another job well done on your behalf

Hello Phill,

A big thanks to Terry for his assistance and provision of the DVD drive, over and above what anyone could be expected to do but done in the true spirit of our GTG colleagues

Yes, definitely way over and above what anyone could reasonably be expected to do. I am incredibly grateful!

I love GTG: you are all great here! :)

Chris.
