So I'm doing a 3 monitor setup on the r9 390 card.  I has 2 dvi connections 1 hdmi and 1 display port.  I plan to use the 2 dvi ports for first 2 monitors.  I know I have to use the display port for the 3rd monitor unfortunately my monitor has only a dvi port.  So ill need a adapter so was thinking that I get an adapter dp-hdmi, then have a cord for hdmi to dvi so am wondering if I need a active adapter or a passive one.

Gday.

When you connect two monitors using two Legacy connections, the third monitor must be connected using the video card DP, and, if this is to another Legacy monitor, an Active converter must be used.

How to configure a group after making connections, > http://support.amd.c...-Eyefinity.aspx

The connections you can use,

As mentioned in the video, if the manufacturer has included a signal converter in the DP, an additional  converter is not required.

You may find that info, and possibly connection set ups, in the cards manual.

Look for the D++ Dual-Mode logo in your user documentation.
