Hello geeks,

 

I am not sure what happened. I can no longer watch live video streamings on Facebook.

Plane spotter friends are streaming live videos from London Heathrow Airport and all I get is a fixed image and no sound.

 

I used to be able to watch the streamings. Now they no longer work.

 

This is on my home PC. The operating system on this machine is Windows XP Pro SP3.

Browser is Firefox Version 51.0.1.

I tried watching the live feed with my laptop a more recent machine with Windows 7.

I am also using Firefox updated to Version 51.0.1. on this second computer.

 

I hardly ever use I.E. and have an old version. Somehow it won't update, probably because of the XP Pro operating system.

 

I used to be able to watch these live streams. I am not sure why I cannot watch live Facebook video streaming anymore. Other sites work. News sites, Youtube, NASA and others.

 

Is it because of some FB scripts? Is it because of FF newest version? I have no  idea.

 

I went on Mozilla support pages and tried all kinds of things they recommended... disabling this and that... de-insalling, re-installing... this and that.

 

None of them worked.

 

Maybe somebody here can help. I am sure many others have had this same problem.

Have you tried installing/updating Adobe Flash Player? 
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

 

Alternatively, Google Chrome has this built in. You could consider swapping over for the future convenience.

thank you for your answers.

 

I tried the solution on the reddit link and looked at everything in that respect

i also uninstalled and reinstalled Flash

 

Sadly no changes happened.

After doing all this, the live streaming is not working.

 

Somehow there is something that blocks it.

Tried on two laptops. Same same. Nothing. Only a fixed image.

I fiddled around with several things while the friends were doing their live shows on Facebook.

 

I disabled the Flashblock extension after which all was back to normal again. It worked.

 

I have the latest updates on everything.

 

Let's hope I will be having no more problems with this.
