Hi

How do I make a new pw? as each time I send for a new one I paste in the numbers etc sent from Geekstogo  and access the site then I go to my settings to change my pw but I cannot find an obvious way to do it because there does not seem to be a box to enter the old pw or a box to append a new pw, and if I keep the numbered one sent by email it will not work at a later date, and I have to go through the process of sending for another list of numbers from geeks2go again to enter the site, regards Robert.

Hi,

Make sure you are logged on the forum then try to access the following link. Can you access? there I have options to change the e-mail and password.

Hi sleepy, thanks for your help, I guess that you did not get my last reply as it is not showing on the site, I have just logged in again using the lost pw link, which will not work again as I think its a one time only code, I did follow the link you kindly sent unfortunately without success as the form asked for my old pw which was always rejected, and I tried all my usual pw's, I also tried entering the several  "lost pw codes" sent from geeks2go and they were also rejected, regards Robert.

Hi,

You managed to post so you are authenticated on the forum. Is the password memorized on the browser? I think all the browsers let you access the stored passwords.

Hi again, to make this reply I have had to use the lost pw link again to enter the site, if I use the link from your reply to access the site and make a reply to you I do not think it shows on the site, that is probably why my my second statement was missing.

Is the password memorized on the browser? I think all the browsers let you access the stored passwords.

I am not sure what you mean by this, (do browsers save pw's) but I do have Dashlane password manager, and the pw entered by this is also rejected.

The problem seems to be when I attempt to make a new pw the form accepts the new one and my email address or my username, it also asks for the old pw in order to change it, but whatever I append it is always rejected so I can go no further, what I think I need is to find the current pw and I have just had another long session trying every combination of my pw that I can think of without success, regards Robert.

You're welcome SleepyDude! :)

Hi tyler4402,

When I click on the Sign%20in.jpg button using my Firefox browser, my browser does ask if I would like to save the password, which I do, it does save my log on information so that next time I do not have to go through the process of acquiring a new password.

If you allow your browser to save your log on information, the next time you click on the Sign In button that I displayed above, instead of clicking on I've forgotten my password as shown below, just click inside the Username or email: and the Password: fields your log on information should appear so that all you have to do is click on the blue Sign In button at the bottom of the box and that will log you into the site.

sign%20in%20screen.jpg

Do note: Every time that you click on I've forgotten my password, the previous temporary password you entered will be erased and a new password will be generated and sent in an email notification so you have to go the through the process again.

If your browser is not offering to save your password, let us know which browser you are using and we can guide you on how to tweak your browser into saving passwords so you don't have to continually go through the lost password process every time you visit the forum, at least till we can get this feature corrected.

Hopefully this information will make it a bit easier for you till we can get the maintenance man in here to fix the problem.

We will keep you informed...

Donna :)

Hi, thanks for your help and input, I now see what you mean about clicking in the box to retrieve the stored username and pw info, and my Dashlane pw manager does the same thing by entering my saved pw from its memory, which is always rejected, and I have had to click the "lost pw box" three times in order to gain access to the site to post this reply as often the link provided does not work when I enter it into the "Enter your sign in name and pw" box, regards Robert.
