I had downloaded a download assistant freeware (recommended by my university's website). I'm not sure if that is waht caused it but a couple of weeks later, my computer was frozen. I tried pulling upTask Manager, but it wouldn't come up. I tried connecting to the internet, but the the browser hijacked me toto something called www.knu-konceptz.com/free.html and a webpage that read "Installing Windows Updates". For a second I fell for it. Then I figured out it may be malware so I closed the window. On the background, there was a dos type window opened which displyed 'Run Dreese.exe'

Eventually, my master hard drive was no longer recognized and after I got that to somewhat work, my Windows XP password was reset. I have tried running Norton and it came up with nothing. I am beyond my wits and I don't know what to do. I noticed that another forum member has had a similar experience.

I am desperately trying to revive my computer as it has some very importatnt files that I cannot lose. Please help!!!!
