My Father's laptop takes a lot longer then normal (around 5 minutes) to log on to Windows and Kaspersky Internet Security has problems with the program shutting down and being unable to update. How can I fix this for my Father?

Reinstall Kaspersky Internet Security.

Disable not needed startup programs from System Configuration which you can open by typing Msconfig into Run dialog box.

I think you should ask for malware infection checkup at Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal forum.
