Several problems on a Dell Latitude D630 running XP

My Father's laptop takes a lot longer then normal (around 5 minutes) to log on to Windows and Kaspersky Internet Security has problems with the program shutting down and being unable to update. How can I fix this for my Father?

Will the new version of Kaspersky install on his machine? It does run XP.

 

Also webpages load slow/not at all.
