My laptop, Acer Aspire E15 takes a long time to shut down. I have Windows 8.1.
Please advise what I should do to speed up shut down time.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Hari Prahlad,
Check Task Manager to see what is still running when you are trying to shut down the computer then post back and let us know.
Thanks phillpower2 and Freebooter.
This is the error message that I get when I try to run Task Manager. I am unable to open it.
"C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
Thanks. Will do.
The power has gone. Happens when there is heavy rain in South India. Will get back after power supply is resumed. Apologies.

Please reset Windows services to there default startup settings with the batch script from below url link.
"Restore Windows Services To Default Startup Settings"
I get a message saying "you must have administrator rights to continue."
Now what do I do? It is my personal laptop but I work on office WiFi. Should I ask the System Admin?
Hi Freebooter
Sorry for the delayed reply. I told the office System Admin about the problem and he fiddled around with my laptop and he solved it. However, he didn't tell me what to do if the problem arose again. Do you want me to do something else? Also, how do I put up a screenshot in my posts?
Thanks for all the help.
