Hey Betrayed!
It seems to me like you're having a problem when you try to use your computer and cellphone at the same time on the same WiFi network? If so, there could be a few causes...
- Your router could not be properly equipped to handle the two concurrent connections, causing it to have to only serve up Internet to one device at a time, causing lag and high ping
- Your router could be experiencing interference as far as the channel it's broadcasting on... This is common when you live in an apartment building or when there are many wireless routers broadcasting in a small physical area
- Another issue that's not quite so apparent...
So, what can you do to fix it?
- Check your router configuration panel, and see if it's equipped to broadcast on a 5GHz frequency. The 5GHz channels are much wider and are designed to avoid interference (and your S8 should have no problem connecting to a 5GHz network)
- Ensure you're using an up-to-date software (sometimes old versions have known issues that cause slowness, and even if that's not the problem, up-to-date software allows you to rule out a number of other issues
- Check with your ISP to ensure that your Internet package allows for enough bandwidth for multiple devices - sometimes if you only pay for the minimum package (or if you're in a high-traffic area and the ISP infrastructure is inadequate) you may not be getting enough bandwidth out to allow for multiple devices using the Internet at the same time.
Let me know if any of this works, or if you have any additional problems!
