Yesterday infected with trojans, lost internet explorer and access to video and music files.

been helped on this website for last 8 hours

decided just to reformat Hard drive

suggested for me to follow the steps in the Malware forum

I have finished them all and am on the last step, the "geek in training" helping me "wannabe1" sent me here to have my hijacked log looked at.

(I am lost , not a power user)

cja

any help would be much apprectiated

ps

I was going to just reformat my hard drive yesterday afternoon when all the troubles started. While posting the question " how does one reformat their hard drive when the recovery discs are on the hard drive (hewlard packard m1070n media center computer)

I found out to hit f10 button during startup and it went to a black screen and prompt

"Please select the operating system to start:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
or
Microsoft Windows Recovery Consule (which I think is what I need)

so I choose the second option a number of times
then it goes to another black screen and prompts

"Which Windows Installation would you like to log onto"
(choices are....)

1: D:\MiniNT (my recovery consule is on the D drive)
2: D:\I386
3: C:\Windows

I have tried all 3 but I believe that it requires a DOS promt that I am not privy to,

I started this morning at 6:30 am 8:30 am on this website and have been cleaning trojans and viruses off my computer all day 9:30 pm (minus time to eat 3 meals) (frequency is decreasing after following those steps suggested by this forum

do I reformat??? ;) or Just clean :tazz:

cja

I will continue to post updated hijack logs if this helps??
