Computer not shut down properly and windows will not install

Sons new computer out of the box upon turning it on the first time says not shut down properly and windows will not install even with the option to restart

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the new computer  :(

 

First thoughts are that being that the computer is new you should return it and have it put right, the problem could be hardware related and trying to fix this yourself could void your warranty.

Not sure what you have tried but below a safe to try suggestion for you;

 

Try restarting and shutting down Windows a few times one after the other by using the power on button, hopefully after a couple of time you will get the Windows RE (recovery environment) screen come up where you can try the Troubleshooting options, info here

 

Let us know how it goes and if no joy post the brand and model name or number of the computer when you reply so we can do some research on any possible recovery partition that may be available.
