So I got a new external hard drive (WD My Passport 1TB) and set it up on my laptop running Windows 10. I followed some online guides to allocate it as Virtual memory space but after I changed the settings it didn't update the available memory, it's still the same. The online guides showed more memory after doing this so I'm wondering if I did something wrong or if it's working but just not showing me the new memory. Any insight is appreciated, I'm faaar from being good at this stuff.

Virtual memory, uses part of your hard drive to effectively expand your RAM, allowing you to run more programs than it could otherwise handle. When there’s no room in RAM for that program or file you’re trying to load, virtual memory kicks in. Virtual memory does not increase size of installed RAM.
