Notebook CMOS batteries are quite often held in place by a sticky pad but mainly when they are the wired type that you plug into a header on the MB, the worse type are the ones that are soldered into the MB, thankfully there are not too many of those around these days.

 

Not pestering anyone at all  but can I ask that when you are ready to start the parts list that you start a new thread specific to the build, thanks

Hi phillpower2,

apologies for the late reply.

I have had no internet access lately.

I managed to fix the laptop so the issue is resolved.

When I go to build a desktop I will start a new thread.
